THE AUTONO CAR
Using groundbreaking perception-enabled LaserArt™technology, Jim Wildmans new unique art combination is designed to the highest degree of precision. It’s art reimagined.
LaserArt™ PROCESS
The original drawing or design is the blueprint Jim creates to make the machine code programs on his computer to make the finished laser engraved artwork. The importance of the detail in the design cannot be undermined. This design will determine how the finished piece of art will be neatly cut by the laser cutting. Additionally the depth of the cutting is an important part.
As you cannot alter the process midway once started, you must pay a lot of attention to details when making the laser cutting design.
CREATING THE DESIGN\DRAWING
The first step is to create a drawing of the subject. It can be anything from a face to a flower. Once the original drawing is loaded into his computer the next steps are to create a vector design and then transferr it to an autocad type program. Making an excellent design for his art cutting project is one of the most important parts of making the product itself. During this stage the programming will be established for the intricate cutting patterns. The design will determine if the laser cutting detail is possible and if it can be engraved in the material he has chosen.

JIM WILDMAN ART LaserART™ PRODUCTS
During a cutting operation, the cutting head fires a continuous laser at the material to slice through it. In order to know where to cut, the laser cutter\driver reads all of the vector paths in the designed piece.

Trained as an Architect, Jim Wildman's understanding of composition and the use of color and line is extraordinary.
Wildman develops in his LaserArt™ his own symbols and patterns to tell stories and convey psychological ideas, much like the work of Gustav Klimt during the artist's Golden Phase.
ADVANCED LaserART™ TECHNOLOGY
Once you send your file to a laser cutter, only lines that register as only hairline or vector graphics with the smallest possible line thickness will be cut by the laser. Since the light from a laser is infrared, it is invisible to the human eye. It also has a very long wavelength. It can cut a variety of materials, including cloth, wood, metal, glass, and paper. The intense heat from this light vaporizes or burns the material that is going to be cut, leaving an accurate, smooth finish. It is important to accurately determine the depth the laser will cut as it is possible to cut completely through the surface.
REAL-TIME PROGRAMMING
Laser cutters use a thin, focused laser beam to pierce and cut through material to cut out the pattern of the drawing. A laser cutter is a type of CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled) machine, meaning that it is controlled via a computer.
As a designer Jim can design in his design software, and then send it to his laser cutter where it will cut out automatically, with just the push of a button. Using a computer generated image the progam is sent to the laser machine.
Our
Story
Get to Know Us
Working principally in laser-cut specialty woods like oak or beach plywood, North Carolina-based artist Jim Wildman creates densely layered forms that attract and intrigue with their unique designs where elements twist, intersect, and overlap to create compositions that are precise and expressionist.
Although the design process begins digitally with complex vector illustrations, Jim Wildman's work is brought to life by the artist’s meticulous craftsmanship. His years of experience in high-end architectural designs and the furniture design world are as evident in the impeccable construction of his work. There is a delicate balance between technology and the design as attention to detail and the desire to allow the composition to flow is considered.
Mind blowing art using laser on wood.
Jim Wildman’s LaserART™ can be created on many materials, but our favorites to work with is wood. It’s a renewable, biodegradable, timeless, and universal material that’s downright incredibly detailed and gorgeous in its own right. When enhanced or spruced up with color or other embedded materials or etched illustrations or custom cut into a unique pattern, wood becomes even more instinctively beautiful and endlessly versatile. Jim Wildman is an artist and Laser art creator who is doing some pretty incredible things with his laser machine.
WHY JIM WILDMAN
A different approach, using a new method of Painting and using Technology and the Laser.
Jim Wildman has expanded his talents to include painting, LaserART™ and sculpting.

His experience in woodworking is a constant fascination. Jim is a trained architect who moved easily into fine arts and painting. Architecture is at the heart of Wildman’s thinking as an artist.

JIM WILDMAN has maintained a lifelong fascination for the power of images and carries that thinking into his paintings.

His works are in the philosophy or style of ILLUSIONISM.

Illusionism in art history means the artistic tradition in which artists create a work of art that appears to share the physical space with the viewer. Wildman builds up cumulative layers of non-representational painting, beginning with inking, brushing or laying in with a palette knife big swaths of primary color onto canvas. paintings evolve in stages.

Although Jim creates his art with the help of a Laser machine, Jim Wildman’s technique is inherently handcrafted, unique and when embellished or enhanced with oils they are definitely one-of-a-kind.
